Dear Albuquerque 48 Hour Filmmakers,
We have officially set the dates for this year’s 48 Hour Film Project, so put this on your calendar! The filmmaking weekend is scheduled for July 13-15. We will hold screenings at the KiMo on the 19 and 20th and the Best Of screening on the 28th.
At the end of each tour, we bring our winning filmmakers to a film festival and screen the films and award our international winner – our annual Filmapalooza. Next weekend this is happening right here in New Mexico. We’re partnering with the Taos Shortz Film Festival for a weekend of films, parties and panels. We have 200 filmmakers coming from all over the world – Osaka, Johannesburg, Melborne, Kuala Lumpur, Sao Paulo – plus 15 more international cities and all over the US.
The Filmapalooza part of the festival is completely sold out, but if you want to come to the Taos Shortz Film Fest, tickets are still available here. It's going to be a good time, so check it out.
Also, I’m on a WIFV committee for an international short film showcase, and I want to let know about this upcoming event.
New Mexico Women in Film and Women in Film and Television International
Proudly presents 2012 Short Film Showcase
We invite you to come celebrate with us the vision and power of women filmmakers as we mark the 7th year that WIFTI has commemorated International Women’s Day by screening selected short films made by women who are members of the various chapters around the globe. This year’s Showcase includes shorts from the Bay Area, New Zealand, Portland, India, DC, Los Angeles, Atlantic Provinces, Vancouver and the UK. This is the third year that the New Mexico chapter will be represented in the Showcase, with a film by Jocelyn Jansons.
A short Q & A with Jocelyn and the WIFTI showcase producer, Janet Davidson will follow the screening.
