ACTORS NEEDED
UNM’S CASAA (Center for Alcohol, Substance Abuse and Addiction)
is hiring actors for an ongoing research project.
Applicants must be 21+. Pay ranges between $11-$15 per hour based on experience. Temporary, on-call position.
On-premises Responsible Beverage Services (RBS) field actor's positions to conduct pseudo-intoxicated bar and restaurant visits to begin in the next two months.
1. These positions consist of two (2) separate roles: the Pseudo-Intoxicated and the Observer.
2. The qualifying actor must meet the following criteria in order to be hired for these positions:
• Must prove that they are 21 years of age or older (however, the ability to portray someone younger than 21 is a plus.)
• Pass a qualifying audition realistically portraying a state of alcohol "intoxication" or instead portray a sober "observer" who has no connection to the pseudo-intoxicated actor while both adhere to a set script or "protocol" in order to safely and consistently collect field data for later analysis.
• Ideally, an actor can either play both roles (switching off) or be hired to only portray an "intoxicant" or be hired strictly for the "observer" role.
• Hired actors must be able to work as a team professionally and responsibly with another actor for hours at a time while conducting "pseudo-intoxicated" visits of bars & restaurants in Albuquerque, Farmington, Taos, and Las Cruces New Mexico.
**Note: At no point during the conducting of field research (data collection) is either actor to actually drink any alcohol.
This position is on-call and is not benefits eligible.
