The McNair Scholars and Research Opportunity Program (ROP) are recruiting for its next cohort of scholars.
The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program and the Research Opportunity Program (ROP) are two programs that aim to help undergraduates in their pursuit of a graduate education. We are currently seeking applicants for the 2010-2011 cohort, and the priority deadline for applications is September 15, 2010.
The aim of both the McNair and ROP programs is to provide undergraduate students with research experience and to aid in the graduate school application process. We are searching for students who are sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in attending graduate school and are committed to conducting undergraduate research. Since our programs are grant funded, we are looking specifically for first-generation and low-income students or students of Hispanic, Native American, Asian Pacific Islander, or African-American descent.
Students from EVERY discipline are encouraged to apply!

- Assistance with the graduate school application process, including letters of intent.
- Faculty mentorships in the scholar's chosen field
- An 8-week paid summer research internship ($2800)
- GRE Test Preparation
- Monthly research and grad school prep seminars
- Personalized advisement
- Presentation opportunities at national research conferences
- Graduate school visits
