We have been working on this project for three years in our studio in NYC and now is finally ready to be installed in Albuquerque. More than 30 interns from 5 different NY universities where involved in the fabrication of the piece and we put more than 7,000 hours of work all together. You will be helping on getting the piece preassembled and ready to be installed on the final location, the projection wall facing the amphitheater on the west entry of the building. Duties include. - Wiring the controlling system for the 900 sq feet display comprised on the piece. - Building the aluminum frame behind the 28 panels (4’ x 8’ each) on the screen - Wiring and mounting the 9”x9” LCD units on the screen. For this process we will be on a large lift boom, so if you’re afraid of height think twice about this open call (I’m a bit afraid of heights myself). - Helping on anything else that need to be done for this piece to become a reality. I am a volunteer with TEDxABQED, a TEDxABQ event that will be held on Friday, January 11. TEDxABQED will be a half day event that will focus solely on education (pre-K through adulthood) in New Mexico.
We are looking for people to help us produce a one minute video to be used to promote the event in our invitations, on our website, Facebook, etc. Since we don't have a lot of time, we've written a script but need help deciding if it is feasible or not in the timeframe we are working with. We are very open to suggestions. We need help with all aspects of production, including shooting, editing, etc.
As with all TEDx events, everyone who contributes to the event is an unpaid volunteer. However, this would be an excellent opportunity for a student or two to build their portfolio and to get some recognition on our website, Facebook and at the event itself.
If you're interested in learning more about the project or possibly helping out, please email Rachael at rachael013@comcast.net or call/text 507-4295. Thank you much!

Hello, My name is Jordan Unverzagt and I am a journalism student here at UNM. I am currently working on the formation of a campus magazine and am now seeking students that are interested in joining my staff. To give you a brief idea of the project, I hope to create a publication that serves as a platform for students by students to share their voice and how they incorporate knowledge from the classroom to other aspects of life in the hopes of informing, connecting and collaborating with one another. The magazine will be divided into sections, but instead of the typical Health, Beauty, Fashion, etc. sections, it will be categorized by each college or school on campus (College of Arts and Sciences, Anderson School of Management, etc.) I am looking to get a student from each school/college to be the editor of their section. I am also looking for graphic design, web design, photography, reporting and advertising students to join the staff. The main duties of each section editor will work to get submissions from fellow students in their school of study, edit submissions to ensure publication, and contribute content of their own. Graphic design positions will help with the editorial/layout design and work with advertising staff to create ads for student-submitted ad requests. The advertising staff will reach out to students to acquire ad requests. The ads should be an opportunity for students to advertise their own services (babysitting, guitar/language lessons, art shows, music shows, photography, selling a mattress, etc.) and will be free of charge. The web designer will update content and help with the layout and function of the site. Photography staff will set up photo-shoots for stories/features and submit content of their own. Reporters will regularly write features and stories for the magazine and help in the editing process. I have attached an editor/staff application form for submission no later than November 17. This application is for students interested in joining the full-time staff. Chosen staff members will then be able to register for an upper level C&J course, which is when the staff will meet and work on the magazine. Those who do not want to commit to being a full-time staffer, but wish to submit to the magazine sparingly will have the opportunity to do so next semester. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you. Best, Jordan jlmu09@unm.edu (505) 401-7309 Attachments:

Tim’s Big Heart foundation is looking for a talented, passionate, driven individual to help create videos, social media campaigns and anything else that might crop up.
The foundation may eventually morph this into an internship, but they aren’t quite there yet. It’s a brand new need for the foundation, so all the details aren’t ironed out yet, but if you know of someone who would be great for this, have them contact me (lcash@unm.edu) or Sabrina Torreblanca at The Foundation (Sabrina@timsbigheartfoundation.org)
