We are absolutely thrilled to invite you to attend our first Musicology Colloquium lecture of the semester presented by MacArthur fellow, Dr. Josh Kun (Professor of Communication, University of Southern California) on Thursday September 7, 2:00-3:30pm in Keller Hall, Center for the Arts. Drawn from his research for the Getty Foundation’s PST: LA/LA initiative, Professor Kun will explore the role of various Latin American musical histories in the shaping of jazz, funk, and popular music in 20th century Los Angeles. We are honored to host Dr. Kun and hope you will attend the event and share widely. More details in the image below and attached poster. This event is possible thanks to the UNM Department of Music, Student Affairs, the Latin American and Iberian Institute, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, and the Department of American Studies. Looking forward to seeing you there! More information can be found on the attached flier.
