Reminder that this evening is the opening night of Opera Theatre's performance of Die Fledermaus at 7:30pm.
19th-22nd: Opera Theatre and Symphony Orchestra. Presenting Strauss’ most celebrated and popular operetta, Die Fledermaus. Mistaken identities, frivolities and confusions of all kinds transpire throughout an evening at a masked ball with some of the most captivating music ever written. Directed by Leslie Umphrey and Sam Shepperson. Conducted by Dr. Jorge Perez-Gomez, Chorus Master - Dr. Kristin Ditlow and set design by Richard Hess. $15/10/5. 26th - 2pm: Musicology Colloquium Series. “Songs Taken For Wonders: Art Music’s Indigenous Inclusions”. Dr. Dylan Robinson- Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Arts & Assistant Professor, Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
*NEW* 26th – 7:30pm: UNM Sinfonia. Professor Kimberly Fredenburgh, director and soloist. Conducted by Gabriela Garza. Repertoire to include Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, J. S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #3, Gustav Holst’s St. Paul Suite, and G. P. Telemann’s Viola Concerto in G Major.
27th - 8pm: Composition Studio Recital. Featuring works by UNM composition students.
28th - 12pm: Music Prep School. “Music Is…” presentation. Instrument Petting Zoo put on by NAfME.
