Greetings Albuquerque 48HFP Filmmakers, Friends, and Fans,
The 48 Hour Film Project returns to the Duke City for its eighth big year July 12-14. Registration opens next Tuesday May 6, and Early Bird registration discounts will be in effect for several weeks. Register at www.48hourfilm.com/albuquerque
Want to be on a team? Come meet people who need teammates or if you’re already on a team, check out the competition, at our first Meet and Greet event – Tuesday May 14 at Marble Brewery, 5:30 – 7:30.
All the competed films (even late ones) will be showcased at the KiMo Theatre on July 18 and 19th. Audience members will also vote for their favorites. Then our panel of judges will determine the winners of 12+ categories (Best Acting, Best Editing, Best Film, etc.), and the creme de la creme will be featured in the Best of Albuquerque screening on July 25th.
The big Albuquerque winner screens at Filmapalooza, and competes with other city winners to determine the global winner of the Best 48 Hour Film of 2013. They also have the chance to show their film at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and win other prizes. Albuquerque sent a winning film to Cannes in 2007 – it’s time to do it again!
Also, through a partnership with the all new Albuquerque Film and Media Experience we are showcasing some of our best local and international 48 Hour Films! This great new film festival is June 3-9. Our local 48 Hour Films screen on June 3 at the Lobo Theater.
You can find out more info about the Albuquerque 48 Hour Film Project, registration, and all the news you need at www.48hourfilm.com/albuquerque
More to come!
