Tuesday, November 6 at 5:30 pm UNM Art Museum, Main Gallery Jim Campbell Jim Campbell has remarked that, "The biggest challenge ... working with technology and art is to transcend the medium ... and to have some sort of humanist side to the work." With a combined background in engineering and film, his recent work centers upon the visual effect of LED sculptures and installations and the perception of information, time and memory within these displays. Campbell has an extensive international exhibition record and received numerous honors, including awards from the John S. Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation. His work is found throughout collections in North America including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Berkeley Art Museum, University of California; Blanton Museum of Art, The University of Texas, Austin; Denver Art Museum; Metropolitan Museum of Art; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
