WCPA announces winners of New Rocky Mountain Voices Competition.
The New Rocky Mountain Voices play Competition, held each year by the WCPA/ Jones Theater is proud to announce the winners of this year’s competition. The plays will be presented at the Jones Theater on Friday August 31 and Saturday Sept 1 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each.
The winners in the one act play competition are: Leonard Madrid of Albuquerque New Mexico with his play “Ambrosita” and Josh Wagner from Missoula Montana for his play “Bleach Bones.”
In the ten minute play category the winners are: Jim Lord of Cedar City Utah for his play “Blur.”, Susan May Pelto of Pueblo Colorado for her play “Bob and Clementine” and Maggie Romigh of Las Vegas New Mexico with her play “Resurrecting Sarah “
The winners were chosen by a group of local theater enthusiasts led by Bev Allen. For the second year Scott Chapman serves as Program director and is directing one play. Other local directors include Maximilian Parmenter, Tom Barrow. Mckenzie Horton and Bev Allen.
Tickets can be purchased on line at www.jonestheater,com , at Candy’s Coffee, or by calling 719-783-3004 for tickets and information. The plays are not appropriate for young children.
