For each piece provide: An artist statement of 250 words or less, title, dimensions, medium, artist name, and complete contact information including major and status (for example, Studio art, Junior). Entries will be selected by Dr. Jonathan Wolfe (aka The Fractal Guy). Work must be “exhibition ready” and will be installed by the artists and juror Oct. 21 - 28, 2011. Works on paper must be framed or securely mounted. Stretched canvases do not need to be framed.
Our hanging system permits some flexibility in height and positioning of artwork. No additional hooks, nails, glue, or other fasteners can be attached to library walls. Please view our hanging system and ask about size limitations and technology requirements before submitting work to ensure we can accommodate your pieces.
The Library will take all reasonable precautions for the protection of artwork. Display cases are locked and have UV-protection. The artist exhibits work at his/her own risk, not holding University Libraries or UNM liable for damage to art due to theft, vandalism or natural disasters.
A reception funded by the Library will be held for the selected artists on Nov. 18, 2011, 4-6 pm.
