Convergencia, is an evening of original work that showcases the artistry of MFA candidate, Jeanne d`Arc Casas Panouze. A native of Puetro Rico, Jeanne d’Arc began her MFA Studies in Choreography at the UNM in 2008 and is an instructor of modern and flamenco dance at the University. Convergencia includes five pieces: Herencia, a contemporary piece with original music by John Maestas, Asher Barreras and Enrique Chávez, Convergencias, which features traditional and contemporary flamenco techniques, Encuentos Casuales, (Alegrías) where she will be joined by Carlos Menchaca, Tangos de la Juana, performed by UNM student dancers and the program will close with La Luna (Soleá por bulerías) performed and choreographed by Ms. Casas Panouze. She will be accompanied by guitarists José Valle ‘Chuscales’ and Mario Febres. Vicente Griego, cante and Enrique Chávez, percussion.
