On the Spectrum: Color Conceived
Fine Arts and Design Library
Juried Student Art Exhibition, March 7 – May 14, 2011
WHEN - Submission deadline is February 7, 2011
WHO - Current UNM students; exhibition will feature one or more artists
WHAT - 2 & 3 dimensional work shown on walls and in display cases
HOW - Submit, in digital format, up to 10 images depicting up to 5 pieces of work, to smoore3@unm.edu by February 7, 2011
For each piece provide: Title, dimensions, medium, artist name, and complete contact information including major and status (for example, Studio art, Junior). Each artist should also submit an artist statement of 250 words or less.
Entries will be selected by UNM faculty juror. Selected work must be ready to hang and will be hung by the artist(s) between February 28 - March 4, 2011. Works on paper must be framed or securely mounted. Stretched canvases do not need to be framed.
The Fine Arts and Design Library hanging system permits some flexibility in height and positioning of artwork. No additional hooks, nails, glue, or other fasteners can be attached to library walls. We encourage you to view our hanging system and to ask about size limitations for 2-D and 3-D art before submitting work to ensure we can accommodate your pieces.
The Fine Arts and Design Library will take all reasonable precautions for the protection of artwork. Display cases are locked and have UV-protection. However, the artist exhibits artwork at his/her own risk, not holding the University Libraries or UNM liable for damage to artwork due to theft, vandalism or natural disasters.
A reception funded by the Library will be held for the selected artist(s).
Questions? Email smoore3@unm.edu. This info will also be posted on elibrary.unm.edu.
Staff members at the Fine Arts and Design Library are pleased to further the creativity and innovation of aspiring UNM student artists by exhibiting student work during the academic year.
Committee members are Judy Hansen, Susan Hessney-Moore and Nina Stephenson.
