Join us for a rare public conversation between curator and artist.
Lowery Stokes Sims is here at Tamarind for a curatorial residency. She is Curator Emerita for the Museum of Arts and Design and previously was on the curatorial staff of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and served as the executive director, president, and adjunct curator of The Studio Museum in Harlem.
Jaune Quick to See Smith is a New Mexico artist, teacher, and activist who received her MA in Art from The University of New Mexico. Her work in painting, drawing, and printmaking explores Native American culture within the broad context of contemporary American life. She has collaborated at Tamarind at least 10 times, working with a range of Tamarind printers over a span of four decades.
