THE CHERRY REEL STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL 2016 is Coming Presented by the Southwest Film Center "A film festival for student filmmakers, by student filmmakers.”
The Cherry Reel Film Fest has two goals: 1. To give talented creators a platform to proudly show their work. 2. To enhance the creative competitiveness and collaborative possibilities between student filmmakers in the Albuquerque, NM area. Last year the Cherry Reel Student Film Festival had over 30 student films submitted. 20 films were screened at UNM in the SUB theater. Submission genres ranged from HORROR, SCI-FI, COMEDY, EXPERIMENTAL, DOCUMENTARY, ANIMATED SHORT, MUSIC VIDEO and many more! This year YOU can be apart of Cherry Reel. Regardless if you're a first time filmmaker looking to submit or a returning filmmaker looking to see how you stack up, Cherry Reel is a film festival for the students, by the students.
A Quick Look at the Rules and Regulations to submit to the Cherry Reel Film Fest 2016 (See attachment for full details): -Films made from ANY YEAR whether it was made in a class or outside of class is accepted. -Submitting student MUST be a current undergraduate student at UNM. -Submitting student MUST be the project’s writer, director, producer, or editor. All other submitting positions will not be accepted. -Total runtime may not exceed 15 minutes (unless special permission is received from the Southwest Film Center).
SUBMISSION DEADLINE is October 23, 2016. The Cherry Reel Film Festival will show November 19, 2016 @7pm in the SUB theater. Any inquires or online submissions can be directed to swfc@unm.edu
