The Cherry Orchard By Anton Chekhov Directed by Bill Walters In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Anton Chekhov, the UNM Department of Theatre and Dance proudly presents The Cherry Orchard, November 12-21 in Rodey Theatre. More than a century after it was written, Chekhov’s last and most beloved play continues to captivate with its rich and insightful portrait of people in the grip of change. Liubóv Ranyévskaya returns from Paris to find that her ancestral estate and beloved cherry orchard are about to be sold to pay for mounting debts. In the midst of this economic upheaval, Chekhov gives us a magnificent comedy whose deeply human characters cope with the trials of daily life: love, loss, desire, and betrayal. Filled with humor, pathos, and truth, The Cherry Orchard is a masterpiece not to be missed. November 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 at 7:30pm and November 14 and 21 at 2pm Rodey Theatre Ticket Prices $15 General, $12 Faculty & Seniors, $10 Staff & Students Tickets are available at all UNM Ticket Offices, by calling 925-5858, or online at www.unmtickets.com.
