UNM Art & Ecology and Central Features Presents: Kenneth Bailey Visiting Artist Presentation 1:00 PM Monday, February 16th UNM ECE Room 215 UNM Art & Ecology and Central Features Show Up Show Down are pleased to host Kenneth Bailey, Design Studio for Social Intervention (ds4si) Sector Organizing and Strategy Lead. Bailey started his activism in the early eighties as a teenager, working in his neighborhood for tenants’ rights and decent housing, targeting the St. Louis Housing Authority. He went on to work for COOL, a national campus-based student organizing program, and then moved to Boston where he worked for the Ten Point Coalition, Interaction Institute for Social Change, and Third Sector New England, as well as being on the Board for Resource Generation. Most recently he has been a trainer and a consultant, primarily on issues of organizational development and community building. Show Up Show Down stages world-changing art through a series of visiting artist presentations, brief photography exhibitions, and an ever-growing archive. It features exceptional artists who use the built environment – everything from houses to freeways to nature preserves, along with the man-made systems that created them – to impact contemporary life in a variety of beneficial ways.
