5th at 7:30pm – NEW MUSIC NEW MEXICO. WaterWorks - Music of Tristan Murail, Lei Liang, Nico Muhly. Directed by David Felberg.
8th at 12pm – “MUSIC IS…” Presented by the UNM Music Prep School.
8th at 7pm - UNM JAZZ BAND FESTIVAL. Ingrid Jensen with UNM Jazz Band I, performing classic and modern big band music, and original compositions by Ms. Jensen. Concert is the closing event of the annual UNM Jazz Festival on March 7 & 8. All daytime events are free. Concert is $8/6/4. Taking place at the African American Performing Arts Center - 310 San Pedro NE. Tickets available in advance at the UNM Ticket Office or www.unmtickets.com.
9th at 4pm – CELLO ENSEMBLES. Featuring UNM students, NM professional, community and student cellists.
11th at 6pm – TROMBONE STUDIO RECITAL. Featuring students of Karl Hinterbichler.
12th at 6pm – VIOLIN STUDIO RECITAL. Featuring students of Carmelo de los Santos.
13th at 2pm - SPRING COLLOQUIUM LECTURE SERIES. Presenting Dr. Beth Levy, Department of Music at University of California - David, on her recent book: Frontier Figures: American Music and the Mythology of the American West. (Location TBA)
13th at 8pm – GUEST ARTIST RECITAL. The Copernicus Piano Trio. Resident piano trio of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. It consists of Molly Roseman-piano, Steve Bjella-violin, and Lawrence Leviton-cello. The program is music of Mozart, Debussy and Faure. $10/8/6.
